Hilton Hotels, including the Embassy Suites chain, has announced that they will waive any cancellation fees on reservations so long as the cancellation is at least 48 hours before scheduled arrival, so you should all be in good shape there. Airlines are also relaxing restrictions on flight cancellations. Our current status on ordered apparel is that we will not refund the fee and the apparel will be shipped to you. Refunds of registration fees will be credited back to you. Until this pandemic is controlled we will not speculate as to when, or even if this event will be rescheduled for later this year. Rest assured, however, that Tulsa LDOP 2022 will happen in two years and all of you will be invited. We appreciate your understanding of the situation and I’m sure all of you, and certainly all of us here, are very disappointed. The only upside is that there are 14 layouts in the Tulsa area that are now spiffed up with nice clean track and dust free rolling stock! Mark your calendars now for the 2020 LD/OPSIG Meet! We will have operating sessions Friday morning, Friday night, Saturday night, and Sunday morning as well as a number of presentations on Saturday. -- At this time all operating slots are full, but there is plenty of room for the clinics and lunch on Saturday. If you have not yet registered and would like to operate, we will be happy to put your name on the extra board and notify you if any operating slots become available. -- Our online registration page is up and running! As early as the 1970's, his interest focused on the railroads of northern New England, particularly the Maine Central and Boston & Maine. Since college, Rich has started construction of 6 layouts and taken them to ever-increasing degrees of completion and prototypical accuracy. Due to far too many work-related relocations, he ended up moving three of these layouts and has adapted his layout building accordingly. Rich's current Maine Central Rockland branch survived the latest of these moves, underwent subsequent expansion to ~1000 sq ft, and is currently operational. When not modeling, Rich is a petroleum geologist, spends time volunteering at the Colorado Railroad Museum in Golden, CO, and serves as CEO of Gibson Moving and Storage served by the South Brooklyn Terminal Rwy. Kenneth Ehlers has been modeling Colorado narrow gauge since 1977, first in HOn3 and then in Sn3, and is well known for his contest modeling, having twice won Best-of-Show awards at the Narrow Gauge Conventions in 1990 and 2000. Ken's layouts have been featured in the Gazette , Sn3 Modeler , RMC , and Model Railroader , and he is MMR #119. Since retiring in 2008, Ken lives in the Tulsa, Oklahoma area with his wife, Margaret, where he is working on the latest edition of his Sn3 Pandora & San Miguel Railway. Visitors are always welcome: ehlerskd@hotmail.com. Designing a layout based upon a specific prototype: making the RGS my own This clinic looks at how Ken designed his Sn3 Pandora & San Miguel Railway to follow the Rio Grande Southern and looks at the many modifications and compromises that were necessary in order to fit his layout into a specific space. The clinic will focus on designing a track plan that balances prototype scenic realism with a desire to achieve realistic operations. Doug Tagsold has been building model railroads all of his life. Four of the layouts have been published in several issues of Model Railroader and Great Model Railroads . First were the HO scale Denver, Front Range & Western, and the On3 D&RGW Silverton Branch. Since retiring in 2010 and moving to a newer home, Doug has built the HO scale Terminal of Toledo, which was featured in GMR 2015 , and his current layout, the 1:72 scale Colorado & Southern Clear Creek Division, which appeared in the 2018 edition of Model Railroad P...
